I got my Umbee

I went to the lfs today just cause i was bored and was about to leave when i thought to myself i think i missed looking at a few of there tanks. So i go back inside and look at those tanks and whats in it didnt see anything interesting but then i noticed a few fish i didnt recognize in there so i looked for the name and saw Umbriferus "rare" i was like holy **** they got my fish!!!! so i talk to them and they got them a few days ago from a breeder in florida and have only sold a few so i pick the biggest and any that already have spots on there gills hoping for a male. I picked out four ,right now there are acclimating to the isloaltion tank. Man this is good timing cause im picking up my 180 this sunday so i see this as a sign in was meant to be and the one i keep will be good for about a year or so in that tank. Man im so excited

Wow! Awesome PMK! You can NOT get any Umbee any where near my area. I haven't even seen one come in any LFS. Umbee's are incredible fish. One of my dream fish until I get my 300 gallon then who knows maybe a Dovii and an Umbee.

i emailed jeff to see if he's going to get any large males for me, he gets them in sometimes, he had a large group last month i think, but they go fast, so you have to order quick.

Great find! I have never seen one in a fish store, personally. Sadly, the one I got from Rapps 7 years ago, died last week.

hehe umbees and dovii are really popular in aus these days! in hte lsat 4 months i've owned 5 dovii and 2 umbee, the 13" male umbee was my fav! talk bout glass banger! cant wait to see pics dude!

I'll ship you one but you gotta pay for shipping but i want to wait until i can sex them to make sure i have a male. There very small but i know you can order them from rapps if you dont want to wait

i found them at hung ming in SF


These guys are tiny there around an inch or so but they look thick for there size. I know its impossible to sex them but i picked the biggest ones that had some tint freckles. Hopefully i have a male.
