i got wood

this is a piece of root i cut this weekend.the tank is 24x48x18..ive never done anything to clean any of the other wood that i have collected and to this point i've never had a problem.what are something others have done or do most people just throw it in their tank?this was on shore and dry its a little soft on the inside.it has some lycen on it

Haven't seen wood that good looking since last night

Most people scrub the wood (lol) and boil it to remove dirt and any possible debris that may contaminate the tank. I found some pretty cool wood around my area but it's all soft wood (lol again) and I've heard that's not very healthy for the tank.

most of my stuff is cotton wood. im pretty sure thats soft wood.i get it fom around my dads lake some ofit has been out of the lake.the stuff i put in my 300 had some good tannins in it still.some people dont like the tannins but i do.
