i gota find a tank mate for my JD

i have a small JD in a 30gal tank and want to find him a tank mate till i need to get a larger tank i was thinking
green terror
jewel cichild
or some kind of african cichilds
any recomendations on what would work best

The JD will fill a 30 gal all by himself. I wouldn't add anything unless you've got a bigger tank to move them to later.

I personally wouldn't use anything smaller than a 40g breeder for a dempsey. If you want to add activity to your tank, I recommend some zebra danios and some kuhli loaches.

i suggest getting the tank then the fish and not the other way around. problems arise and plans have to go on hold. then you would be stuck with two large and aggressive fish in a tiny tank.

get the new tank first then consider another cichlid. for the moment dithers will keep him occupied, such as tetras/danios/barbs etc.
