I had a huge brain fart! Garden hose very bad!

Hoses will only transfer chemicals into the water if it sits stagnant in the hose. If you flush the hose for several minutes before using it in a tank, you should be fine.

It seems to be an inconvenience to a lot of people to purchase potable water hoses (and even those need to be flushed out too).

You cant use PVC!? Ugh. I have had a PVC tube in my 55g tank for about 6 months. I got it for my weather loach. The fish seem fine. Should I take it out?

If the hose is flushed, should be ok. I on the other hand, bought a potable water hose last weekend. The hose is so stiff its a little more difficult to use, but its gotta help da fish.
