I feed him NLS Cichlasoma Formula and Tetra Jumbo Stick mainly.

Every other day, I feed him frozen shrimp. Once a week I give him 5 giant gold feeder which I buy from Petsmart and quarantine in a 20 gallon tank for a month or so.

Basically, he'll eat anything I throw in there. What he loves the most is Tetra Gold Fish Flake. Hell with that, he'll probably burn more calories to pick the flakes one piece at a time ...

He'll go nut every time I put some flakes in the tank ... I can't figure that out.
 
Very beautiful pick up for the price especially. It looks a lot like mine and I'm starting to question now if mine is a true ZZ. I paid 10 for mine.... I am gonna send you a PM BIG_ONE with a pic of him if you don't mind.
 
ive kept kamfa and kamalaus before and i kinda have to agree with Big_one. kamfa and kamalau from experience have large fan tails. one thing that throws me off is the pearlings on it. from what i know most kamfa or kamalaus have massive pearls but for this one looks alot like a zz. so if i take a wild guess,

1. ZZ
2. Kamfa or zzMalau
3. probably a golden monkey.

its a wild guess so dont take my word for it. but overall its a awesome fish. nice pick up.
 
I guess I was lucky to begin with because he looked like any cichlids you could find at Petsmart, and I had no idea what the heck was FH.

That's why my wife threatens to kill me if I sell him ...

There's a guy I know wanted to pay $350 for him, and it's tempted me big time ... :D

For me $350.00 is a huge sum that I can live with ... out him ... :D
