Have you run your finger on a dead aros' mouth? If you have, you would have noticed how sharp their teeth are--and there are alot! If your fish decide to hold onto your finger and than drag it... your tank will soon turn into a blood soup.

Excelllent!!! That is exactly why i am on this site that is what i like LOL :) Watched one of my Oscars take about 3 to 4 layers of skin off the top of my buddies nose about 6 years ago :).. He was getting ready to feed them and turned his head to talk to his wife and ya the O looked hiom right in the eye as he took his little souvineer!! :) YES

they seem precise in telling when the fish end and the finger begins

Or my red devil or my snapping turtle.. not me!

I don't know about if my Aro knows precisly where the finger starts or ends, but if I'm late with the chow I get snapped...I still jump like I got electrocuted...that's what keeps the injuries to a minimum:ROFL:

I have to say, it IS possible that when I used too (all the time) hand feed my 22+ inch arows, that they WERE being carefull, and I just assumed they werent. Perhaps they were capable of ripping the bumper off of a 1972 Buick LeSaber and I just didn't know. Makes me feel a little naive. Though, I'd still be surprised if a 20+ inch arowana could really do damage to your hand if it wanted too (like say make you need stitchs). I'm just not sure of that. Anyone heard of this happening. I will create a new post.
