I Hate Child Leashes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i know ya all are gonna think i'm nuts.. i raised stubborn children, especially my oldest son. i would never have used a leash, regardless, but i have grabbed his hand and dragged him when he refused to go where i needed to go.

it only takes a couple of times and they figure out that they need to do what they are told or life is gonna be rough. and yes, i'm a terrible mom that spanked my boys too.

they are all grown, hard working, independent, strong young men. and the oldest is a father who is raising his sons the way "society dictates" and has nasty little monster children that no one can control.

i like my way better.

i'm all for child discipline, and I think leashes are great to keep a child from getting lost (when used properly), but this is irresponsible and cruel.

people are quick to blame but try being in her situation everybody knows kids can realy play up if they dont get what the want.

If they do, and you have to resort to dragging them out of the store on what is an attached rope because you can't be bothered to control/keep an eye on your kid then you have no business being a parent. People need to learn that sometimes they shouldn't breed.

See this is different though. Grabbing their hand/shirt I'm totally for. Hell beat his ass in the middle of the store.

But dragging him across the floor on a leash is a bit retarded. That woman should be blindfolded and shot. It's obvious she's of no use to society.

Honestly no matter who's in the car I would have told her she's retarded on her way out.

Hmm, what a bizarre situation.

So many things were done wrong with the incident. So many holes in the history of the relationship.

In the end, what a misuse of the kid leash. I've seen those harnesses and leashes work great keeping some overly exuberant kids close to their parents. Some kids are just hyper and the leash is a good way to deal with those kids while keeping them away from strangers.

However, they make shopping carts to haul kids around in should the need arise. The kid harness and leash was not meant to be used to drag one's child(ren) through a store.

I'm really torn on this. It's clear the kid isn't in any danger, assuming she doesn't do it in the parking lot or in a crowd. It may also back fire if the kid sees this as some form of amusement park ride. One of my nephews favorite things to do was get dragged an the hardwood floor while holding onto a rope, you could get him to behave if you promised to to it. On the other hand it looks really bad with respect to her parenting skills.

Very true , plus there are children with hyper activity and such and the leash is helpful.

Some kids do wander off, so I am not against child leashes but that is just insane. :screwy:

leashes are for animals... not humans.. if you cannot discipline your children than maybe you should precaution next time you think about "breeding"......
