I Hate Child Leashes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nobody likes to see stuff like a child getting dragged through the mall by a leash, but of all the people on here who dont have kids who have said how bad this is, how do you guys resond to that kid that is screaming at the top of her lungs when you are trying to eat at applebees? people need to get back to minding there own business, it is making it impossible to discipline children.

Dont beat them, but spankings are okay in my opinion, it makes the kid realize things can get way worse than not being able to get the new elmo doll.

I will never give either one of my childeren what they want because they have a tantrum.

people who want to say bad mother, she prolly aint, just fed up. I know my wife gets fed up. kid screamin, man wants somethin, god knows the circumstances.

cant judge a book by its cover.

yea, you're right. That kid that's young enough to be on a leash (*shudder*) probably wanted a blackberry.

Then there isn't much point to spanking them is there? If it doesn't work then find a new avenue of discipline.

It all comes to consiquinces. There has to be some. Some kids get it sometimes and some don't. Sometimes a warning swat works, sometimes you have to tale it up a few notches. Same goes with time outs and what not. If I am in public, obviously I can't put them in time out. So it's a trip to the car or bathroom and atleast their good ussually for the rest of the time. If you have any ideas would love to hear it.

And a side note, that didn't hurt the kid at all. It was a battle of wills and thanks to the public the kid won. If it would have hurt that kid would have been scrambling to get up. It's because of crap like this I won't move to California.

think i'll pick up a few leashes and a wagon, that way my wife and kids can tow my lazy ass around. hey, its cheaper than a rascal!

No way.. I'm getting a harness and letting people tow me around on the floor. Apparently it doesn't hurt and people who do it to me can just tell people who question it being reasonable that they're frustrated with me and I won't behave..

The only reason I would say that a leash is ok, it when it comes to safety...meaning the child could be mentally challenged and you want to go enjoy yourself at the local zoo, lets just say...you dont want Jimmy running into the lion cage for any reason right??? Although on the other hand most parents should be more stern with their kids...mine is a butt...but she suffers the consequences....

When tears and crying get the exactly what they don't want, varies from kid to kid. One nephew hated car rides, so he pop his top at best buy, put him the the car and went for a 45 minute ride. He threatened to call mom, handed him my cell phone (he didn't have the balls to actually call mom). After 45 minutes of crying and wining (which works great on mom) he never crossed the line with me again.

With one of them telling him Uncle Vlad was mean worked like light switch with the tears.

The problem I have with spanking is every time I've seen it the parent is foaming at the mouth red with anger. The strikes aren't measured. Also I constantly see favoritism with spanking. One particular human prize would swat his daughter for every minor thing but his nasty little son could do no wrong.
