I hate computers!!!

My last two computers were HPs, one a desktop during college, and one a laptop- they both ended up having lots of problems and crashed. Since my HP laptop crashed, I have been using my wife's Mac. We fight over it all the time- I tell her I NEED to use it because the people at MFK miss me so much right now

Anyways, today, I went to buy myself a new laptop. I wanted anything but an HP. I ended up finding a Dell notebook that I liked. It was on clearance, and the only one they had left was returned by another customer, which meant they gave me another 10 percent off of the price. It didn't bother me much that it was a return, because I figured these guys would make sure the computer was in perfect condition before selling it again. I was wrong. got the thing home, and right away it started freezing on me and giving me error messages.

Anyways, I am going to return it tomorrow, and hopefully find another notebook to buy. I feel like I have had so much bad luck with computers, all I want is a RELIABLE one! What computers do you people think are the most reliable? Should I get another Dell tomorrow, or should I look for a different brand? BTW, I don't want to spend over $1,000.

Go to a local computer store that is all about computers and ask them these questions.Also it all depends what upgrades u have and dont have, your Pros RAM, Memory and a bunch of other ****.....I have a gateway it hasn't done me wrong ive had it for 2 years..

i'm on hp slimline right now and have a hp at the shop, both have treated me well so far could do w/o vista on slimline but? when i had a real job we used a dell laptop for MACK diag. and programing, and a panasonic toughbook for VOLVO diag. and prog. i preffered the dell but we did run over the toughbook w/ a 30 ton mack MR w/ a mcclain body and all it did was scratch it and get it dirty(i smiled a little too) but it didnt lose the window it was on. but heck i cant even upload pics right.
