One time my cousin came back from fishing with his friends and he tells me, "Hey bro, we caught a bunch of Oscars! I bet you would have loved it there knowing how much you like cichlids!" I asked him to describe the fish they caught that he thought were oscars. He told me they were big, large mouth, and brown. My roommate later tells me that they caught smallmouths and somehow, my cousin kept saying they were Oscars and that I was going to help him confirm it. C'mon...we lived in WI at the time and I can really rest assure that they were not catching Oscars in the Chippewa River.
