I HATE my ORNATE!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well, earlier in the topics, you're asking for our opinions, and we did give you some advises base on our experience in keeping bichirs. There is no point in opposing some one else thought, its only a discussion, either way the choices are yours to make. Its your fish.

are you sure that he is eating enough my 12" ornate is the most peaceful fish i own

Oh yeah, I watch him to make sure he does eat since he is the only one that will eat the silversides.. don't want them going bad in the tank.

My biggest ornate and the second biggest only bother the smaller ornate, they dont bother the endlis, geo and the smallest in the tank,my del, doesnt get bothered by anyone, even the aro, although he will be moved soon just incase as the big ornate is over 18" and the del is 11 to 12,like said before its just the luck of the draw after all they are predators.
Glad that plec has gone too.
Good luck.

Hmm.. Interesting, I was at an LFS today eyeing some 5-6" ornates (which I can't properly house at this time when they get full grown) and wishing I could have one, lol. Sounds like I'm just gonna stick to my 2 sens and Del, cuz they don't mess with anybody. Only aggression in my tank is a slight bickering between my firemouth and opaline gourami lol

I fill your pain my big endli was jacking up my congi and my lap but would leave everyone eles alone after rearranging the tank the aggression as come to an end well for now, I have also found with my bully endli to keep him happy he eats 1st and the most, I also drop the temp a little, he is almost as bad as my giant bumblebee cat at 10in he will try and kill anything in his way but when he is extremly well fed he will just chill out

The Cat and the Jag both have flower pots.

The one senegal hides underneath a piece of dritwood- and the other 2 cuddle in a piece of PVC.

I then have a pile of stacked PVC siliconed together in which the ornate takes up.

I plan on adding more hiding spots, but everyone has their own spot.
