I suggest you ad some salt in there.

You'll get a nice bric-a-brackish tank.

would this thread even get so much attention if it had a different title? it needs to just sink to the bottom

I opened this because I have a t-shirt with that text.
I think this thread would get even more attention, if the "h" was removed from the title, like I did with my shirt.

I don't hate spongebob. I actually know the entire theme song by heart. I just hate this tank. I think it is a terrible environment for fish and is just tacky and ugly. Obviously a lot of people don't agree. XD

Here is a thought to add to the thread.

While I am not a big fan of fake decor, I AM A HUGE FAN OF MY KIDS!

Now take a look at this picture.

IMGP6426.jpg

He was so excited by this tank decoration and wanted to see it in a tank.

So the ? is this as a fishkeeper and father, am I man enough to put aside what I like or think and do what he wants.

HELL YEAH!!!!!

So I set up a tank that looked like an ancient ruin ship wreck theme for him. Some people may have things to say about it. Yet, who's tank is it.

Beside that I have one seriously pumped 6 year old who has personally taking to choosing his monster fish from my tank and will definitely be getting his own tank for his next birthday. I will start him off with a 4 ft 100g and it will be done as he wishes with one exception NO GRAVEL, this is for water chemistry reasons. Other than that I could care less.

If I remember I will post up pictures of it when we put it together.

Now personally, I have a crazy desire to do a big kid tank and have been waiting for the right time to do it. I am sure it will make people shake their heads and ask whos idea it was to do the tank that way. What will be really funny is to watch as they find out that it was me the 45 year old big kid who did the tank that way.

Well said.

If a tank like this gets a little kid in the hobby then I think its a good thing.

I have a story for you younglin. A bedtime story, if it's late when you read this.

I saw a ship just like that in the ocean that sank many years ago. A cute little fish who was looking for a home swam by and looked at it...At first, he thought it would make an ok home, but then he said "oh wait, thats too tacky".....

Then a huge-asse adult shark came swimming by and he shut up and went to live in the ship like a good little fish.

Lol nice story. But I never said I was against under water ships. If I had a kid who wanted an under water pirate them or whatever I would do it. As long as he didn't use colorful gravel. I wouldn't let him set up a spongebob tank. I don't think I would give a kid a tank until he was twelve though. I remember "experiments" when I was younger and I would hate to discover a tank full of dead fish because my kid wanted to experiment.
