Yeah I really don't think the fish care much either. My 6 year old picked out the decorations for our 20 gallon....... Two pink plants, two purple plants, two yellow plants, two blue plants, pink plastic coral bubble maker, that same sponge bob, several littlest petshop characters but the natural gravel didn't look right to her. She wants pink gravel when we move it into the 60 gallon. Lol. Not my thing, but she loved that tank and now loves fishkeeping because of it.

that setup is perfect. I am a long time spongebob fan, the fish really dont care, i mean how much does our monster 220 gallon tank really compare to a river in the wild???
The thing is that all of these spongebob tanks seem very clean and well maintained, and actually stocked correctly for a small tank. I don't see the problem. If I had a kid and they wanted a spongebob tank, I would not hesitate for a second. Anything to get them into the hobby is a good thing.
