I was just in-forming him that I can get them, mint to tell him I have see them for this "X" much, and was curious as to why his where triple the price. any way one of my friends has a 7 inch discus for 200 and he saw one of my piece of driftwood and might trade me one of his 7 inch discus for the driftwood.

Look at it any way you want. You never intended to pay anywhere near his asking price, easy to tell that by your reply. If I was the seller you wouldn't never even gotten anything more then a second reply.
It does sound like an unrealistic price, but since it seems you are even unwilling to pay the price the breeder is asking. What do you hope to gain from haggling with this guy?

Well you said that the 5-6 inchers get up to $130 in your area. This guy is selling them for $200 and he said that he would deliver for free. So considerring the drive from forthwrth to plano and back that means you would be cheated out probaly less than 50ish dollars for a discus. Not that any of us know the quality of the discus it could be worth it so there is no way you can consider this "rude". Especially when you continued to respond to his emails after you saw that price.
Hey you're a Plano guy, you can afford it. I think you should buy a dozen of his Discus and send him pictures of you frying them up and eating them. 
he was a little rude and a big waste of time. could have solved the problem if he just sent photo or explained.

just because I live in "plano"(known for having snoby rich) people living in it doesn't. make me rich I'm on a fixed income. I get sumpmental income.
so I was hoping we would work out a deal, or come down on the price some.
the reason I was calling him rude is because at first he didn't tell me what city he was in,and wouldn't tell me a price,or send me photos.
