Just keep fish that are comparable with each other. Viejas are awesome for this reason.

i've had the same problem with my cichlids, i didnt sell my red devil. all you need to do is get large schooling fish and just keep your favorite with them. you will have to constantly have to restock the school but it looks nice in a large tank.
yeah Im starting to see this more in videos on youtube. the tanks that are doing well are the ones over stocked with maltiple fish so Im looking at getting more fish some time soon.
