I have a discus tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys. I am happy with them. They adjusted so ate from my hand the first day. I really never thought these fish would be as fun as they are.

I know these guy might have been exposed to hormons. The biggest one the red scribble is 3 " and clearly has bigger eyes so we will see how he grows put. The others I think will grow out well as long as I take good care of them.

sorry to say but you don't have any Tefes in the group. Just image google green tefe discus. Yours look nothing like it. They look more like a red scribble.

Keep feeding the brinshrimp. Over here you can get them with some added garlic. Great stuff. Don't feed them bloodworm since it has very little nutritional value and you can drag parasites in with them.
Feed some high protein granules and make up your own food mix for a bit of variety. Plenty of water changes and you should get some decent looking discus

tefe green's are wild caught and know of those are green tefes.
look on my album discusjoe on simply and you will see the tefes i use to have.
yes your discus are a little stunted. look at the eyes. the eyes are a little to big for there bodies.

Yeah I know tefe are from lake tefe. There are domestic ones that look kind of like them but I guess should not be called tefe. Look at the fish that Hans has they have domestic "tefe". I agree and never thought I got green tefe. I think ones a red turquoise and the other a blue truq maybe not really sure.

The lagrest one 3" I will agree has bigger eyes. The others 2.5" are not that bad I don't think my others will be stunted as long as I do things right. Eye size can be genetic among other things. It does not always mean a fish is stunted. Most wild caught discus have big eyes.

Well I ordered one more discus from snook21. It's a young rio nanay green discus. I just had to have it. I wanted all wilds but wimped out. So I'm going to see how this one does and if all goes well I might convert to all wilds. I have a wild caught true parrot that is doing great so I thought what the heck let's see how it goes.

It will be here Wed.

I am not a fan of mixing wilds and domestics but it's up to you. the fish look great and even stunted discus could be beautiful fish. I agree that the pictured fish are wild greens. here are wild greens from snookn21.
