I have a pair of Carpintis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

Should I keep the Carpintis and breed them or just split them up until larger?

he's nice.....mine has almost like a reddish coloration on the tips of the dorsal and anal fins, is that something special or is it just normal in some or do most males get it too? I never expected to see red on wild-strain Carpintis or Cyannos
Mine had it, but they werent wild... They also had blood-red teeth, which was scary to be honest... But yeah. Lots of Tex seem to have red fins. Seems to occur more commonly the higher up the dominance chain the fish is? Cant verify that, just an observation.

don't want to miis-lead anyone w/ the "wild-strain" statement. These are CB, not Wild- CAUGHT.........."Wild-strain" just refers to anything that does NOT display some type of mutation, color morph or breeder's creation.

Wild-strain simply means it looks the way it would if you were to observe them in the wild.. Sorry, I knew that was going to be a doozy with confusion lol.

It can also be used to describe locales as well, such as the Florida-STRAIN Largemouth Bass, as most believe the Florida variant to be different and grow much larger than other LMB around the country.
