So I have a HUGE issue guys!!! I went into my fish room and found this. Watch the video link to understand! The tank is in my house, what do you guys think I should do? I sprayed it down like crazy and sprayed the holes they made. I'm thinking about breaking the tank down and getting rid of the stand. Never had ants before until now. BTW they don't look like eggs their wood chips that were broken off from my stand and dug out by the ants

I have no experience at all with liquid ant bait, but have had good luck eliminating ants with black cornmeal. Don't see any reason why that wouldn't work to rid your stand of them.

I think that you actually have termites son......

Bingo! I think this is correct. Have you actually seen any workers? The ones in the video are the winged reproductive form, virgin queens and drones heading out to start new colonies.

I would be really concerned about the integrity of that stand. Whether termites or some weird carpenter ant, when you see a few or a few dozen winged ones, there are many hundreds or even thousands of workers hidden inside. And when you see a little hole that they made for the breeders to escape, there are likely large areas of honeycombed wood beneath the surface.

I'm usually the guy telling people to relax when they are freaking out about some harmless bug, spider or other little critter in their tanks or homes, but I think you have a real problem that needs professional appraisal and attention, sooner rather than later. Good luck!

I did find a few workers after I sprayed the tank down with raid but there we're dozens of winged ones, dead, laying around my tank stand. I believe they are living between where my tank sits on top of my stand and within the wood. There's probably a tiny .5 cm gap throughout the tank. After being done with googling the pictures of winged termites and I am afraid that this can possibly be the case. I guess I will be posting all my fish for sale along with the tank and setup but not the stand. I wouldn't be able to provide a secondary housing for them so they will probably all be for sale soon.

I thought I'd seen it all regarding the fishkeeping hobby, but a termite infested aquarium stand is definitely a first.
What a nightmare. Good luck to the OP. I hope things get better soon.
