I have 7 indos (7"-10") which I brought them from other tanks. Some were aggressive towards other species when they were solo, but became tame in my tank due to other existing tankmates. You can try introducing other semi-aggressive cichlids of same size. Then they will cuddle for sure and take cichlid out when they get acquainted. lol
its normal that one of them will try to establish dominance.. The best way to curb this kind of aggression is to have more dats..
alternatively you can try other fast moving shiny fish that distracts them. Silver dollars are a good choice, you dont have to worry about them being whacked up cos they can swim faster than dats.
Whack and silver dollar go hand in hand. They swim too fast and slam the tank all the time.. lol
Still looking for more im going this weekend to pick up a AT thats about the same size my goal is to have a dat/poly tank all said and done the problem is i have one fish i cant seem to sell bc i got attached too my killin flowerhorn so maybe it will b a dat/poly/killin FH tank
This is why I only keep peaceful fish. All the fighting sooner or later brings on ich bouts ime. They are cool fish but p.i.t.a. to keep. I would just keep the one with more aggressive cichlids and see how it goes.
what works for me is to have one big massive tiger and the rest are smaller but near the same size the big boy is the boss and nothing steps out of place if the big boy see the others fighting or chasing each other he steps in to brake it up my big ST is like the tiger police
