You can get an overflow box that won't require drilling. But on top of the overflow box, you will need a pump to return water to the tank and will need to create chambers in that 10 gallon so you can out filter media in there and make sure it flows through the media properly. You will spend more on a sump than you would going out and buying a new filter from a big chain store.

What tank size? If its more than a 100 gallon, I would definitely recommend replacing the AC110, but you could definitely get away with a few days or even a week without that filter.

You could check CL for used filter.or you can buy just a replacement motor and/or repeller.I have bought AC parts online, easy to find
