I have some poly questions.

Hi.
I have a 125g and want to fill it with polys, but i have limited filteration. The tank is 20" wide, i want to put these guys in:

2x Albino Senegalus
2x Senegalus
2x Ornates
2x Delhezi
2x Palmas Polli
2x Bichir Lapradei

I know the Laps and the ornates will outgrow the tank, but they will just go to a bigger tank then.
The Filteration is 2750 liters per hour/726g per hour. Whould that be ok as filteration for those til the ornates and Laps hit 12"?

How long will it take for a 6" Ornate to get to 12"?
Or a 6" Lapradei?

How long it will take a 6" ornate or lap to a 12" ? it all depends on your regiment of keeping things top notch.

If you do religious water changes, feed 1x -2x per day and keep the fish stress free...they may be able to reach 12" in about 2 years.

It''ll still be a while before they outgrow the tank. Once they reach 10", the growth will be REDUCED dramatically. You won't have anything to worry about.

Keep at least 2 canister filters (eheim 2217 and / or fx5) and a HOB (ac110) and do a religious water changes at 50% AT least once a week. Twice a week will be ideal andyou'll see them grow in no time.

On feeding...give them pellets and frozen. Vitamins and CALCIUM is improtant for growth.

My grow out tank (75 gallon) consist of endli, 4 dels, 4 sens, 1 polli, 2buetti, 1 ornate, tigrinus, jurense, silver aro and 10 dats.
Polys are under 10"
Tig, jur and aro are 10"
dats are 4"

FX5, 2217, Ac110 and drip system (changes water at 80% per week)

Soon, they will have a 240 for grow out..

my ornate went from around 6" to 12" in like 6 months and my endli grew 2" a month till he got like 14" idk if laps grow like endlis tho

Juwel pump with 30cm sponges, kind of a canister.. 1000L p/h
Rena XP3 1350L p/h canister
Rena something.. not canister 400L p/h.
Will this be enaugh with 50% waterchanges twice a week?

well in my 55 gallon tank i got like 4 diff polys since i got some more and a raphel cat and its pushing around 900 gal per hour. i still change the water 1 or 2 times weekly...... so if it was me id get a higer gal/hr.

Yes i just dont have so much money i mean a good canister filter is worth double what you pay in money.

I'm no biologist but 50% changes might be a little bit of over kill....


Add some live plants and snails and you should be OK with A LOT less...

Something like 20% once a month...

Define filled with plants?

Besides you do realize you are making your tanks system Start to Cycle half its water every week....
