Remember... Plecos are not immune .

Since it's obvious your not going to shot it (clean shot but you used a camera )

Four things to do :

1) A few lines of monofilinment criss-crossing the pond.

2) Large blow-up owl.

3) Take up falconry.

4) Game camera from wallyworld to get cool pix to sell, to buy more food for hawk.

My mom has a small pond in back of her house (5 acre one out front) and has the same problem. She just buys larger feeder goldfish and replaces as needed. Racoons get 'em too.

i find that fireworks are good alternative to shooting troublesum wildlife a couple of bottle rockets or screamers will scare them away.

why no screen over it?

its 18,000 gallons. I had a quote about ten years ago for a little over five thousand dollars. New koi are cheaper. And I don't like the looks of screen enclosures. I live in a bird sanctuary and I try to keep the natural look.

Check the bird poo! That is probably where they are now.

I wonder if Walmart would have a problem with a dead fish return if it was in the form of bird poo...

BTW, how is your flying pleco? Your hawk didn't eat him and couldn't get its tallons through the bone plating, so I figured...

Thanks for that link. I like the idea of water jets on a motion sensor. That is do-able. Maybe also add strobes too.
...And maybe play a recording of Preznit Dubya giving a speech. If that doesn't put them to sleep, it will bore them to the point of suicide.
