i heard a crack i think..

so I just added some water to my tank and I thought I heard a slight crack from the heater..Did I just break it?

what is it made of? glass, titanium, plastic?
do you see any condensation inside the heater?

I would unplug it, wait 10-15mins, remove it and examine it for problems.

if it was turned on befor the water hit then yes. might want to take it out and double check. unplug it first, wait 10-15 mins, then take it out

haha, it's indoors. and he's in the coldest room in our house.. marble stone flooring..i love it there in the summer.

but i think it's glass..it's the tetrafauna aquatic reptile heater.
and what was that? a condensation??

and what do you mean by if it was turned on before the water hit?
It was already submerged..are you saying that the water flow can't hit the heater?

Oh, no it's been filled. I just do 25% water changes everyday for my turtle.
and the heater is on the bottom so it's never out of the water..except for 2days ago when I realized that I had it out of the water for 1 second..

i forgot to add that I saw some squigly fumes underwater coming out of the heater cage. Do all heaters do that when warming up? Or is the plastic cage that surrounds the heater melting??
