My large Ocellaris is having a very hard time swallowing feeders. He's about nine inches and the feeders are about an inch. I first noticed when he attacked them and then spit them out quickly. He's been doing this for two days and I noticed there is some swelling on the right side inside his mouth between his gills and his tongue, it's pink colored. Any info will help, I really don't want to lose this fish. Thanks!

wow he looks amazing, might be parasitic when did you notice this. is he showing any physical distress ex. limping skinning, loss of appatite? please list water parameters do a water change and try other foods if its just feeders he has that prob with. Do you have any meds running? Try some stress coat. and pump heat up to 86-87 if not allready.

Throat lozenge should help. :D :ROFL::ROFL:

Damn hes got a serious inflamation going on in there. I dont think he will be able to swallow anything at all. Looks like it would hurt like hell too. I got no clue what that is, never seen it before.

I am sorry to say, I think it's a tumor. Benign or malignant time will tell.
The surface looks smooth, no bleeding or ulceration, so not a sign of inflammation. There is overgrowth of blood vessels can be seen which is a sign of rapid growing tissue.

Is it suffering??

And the Dr. has spoken :)

You may still try something. Say some melafix or Pimafix. I wouldn't feed for a couple days as not to continue the inflamation.

Looks like some healing is needed.

at least attempt to see if you can healp the situation.

I did a 30% water change and added melafix. My parameters are fine except nitrates are slightly high around 20ppm. He seems fine otherwise, except the other fish are starting to pick on him a little and two days ago he ran that tank. The only problem now is that I have no where else to put him so I'm stuck. I guess we'll see what happens. :( This sucks and right before my fishing trip to Mexico on Friday.:nilly::nilly::nilly:
