My dad went with me to the fish store I always go to today on the way to my grandmother's house. He had never been before, but he knows that is where I go to get all my fish, trade in fish, etc.

Anyway, he was blown away by how big the tanks were. He had never seen anything bigger than my 125. Well he couldn't understand how big their acrylic tank was (8 feet by 4 feet) and how big the red tailed catfish was.

He stared at the tank for maybe a minute straight, and after that he just said, "Thats the size tank you need. All those big fish you have, that is what you need, but where woul dyou put it? The garage or something I guess."

It was like I didn't even have to argue with him. I just showed him monster tanks and he completely understood why they are 100% necessary.

I wish my pet store had big tanks. THe bigges tthey got is a 180.... How sad.

My dad likes the 125-150's, I want him to get one.

thats how i got started with monsters. had a fish that was getting big. back when i was in high school and didnt have money. came home one day and my dad was like lets go to the store. i said ok and he took me out and bought me a 125.

Go Dad!!!

Show him some monster tanks on MFK...lol

It's always nice to have someone understand the need for a big tank. It's funny that your Dad has never seen anything bigger than a 125g. When people I talk to around here says they know someone with a "huge" tank, it usually ends up being a 50g-60g. They get really shocked when I tell them that I have a 75g

my father constantly bugs about our electric and water bills it must be nice to have that type of understanding lol... im glad he keeps me in check or i would flood our house as it is my bedroom has a walk path through my mini zoo

thats pretty cool i wish my parents would do that

get the parents into some pretty fish to make the living room look a little nicer. its what i did awhile back. got my parents into goldfish. started with a small tank, and wasent hard to convince em their now beloved fancies will yet still need bigger than a 55g.

goldfish or planted community tank with extremely colorful fish works well too
