My tank was fine this afternoon I go out to visit family and boom. My favorite tank is so hot I can't even get my hand in there to scoop out the casualties. Pair of angels, pair of rams, syndontis, seven corries, four khuli loaches. :< I really liked those fish.
F**king heaters man. F**king heaters.
Oh well, suggestions on submersible heaters?

All i can suggest is run 2 lower wattage heaters rather than 1 large one, cos that way if one of them don't switch off, it won't cook anything

Your in Arizona. It is June. I can not understand why people have heaters on this time of year. If you are going to get another heater get a Visi-Therm, Eheim, or Aquaen. But remember all heaters have there horror stories.

From the thread title I was about to suggest some tarter sauce.

As for heaters all I can advise is what I'm currently using and love - which is the Hydor Inline heater.

i keep mine on all year. i guess i could unplug them, but why bother? you might be the only person i ever heard of that unplugs their heaters in the summer.

this would have happened to op either way because the heater would have just malfunctioned later when it got plugged back in.

Go Eheim Jagers

I would recommend using a lower wattage heater. I only use about 2W/gallon and it keeps temps up just fine. Then if your heater sticks on you won't raise the temperature as fast or as high, making it much less likely to kill your fish.

I unplug all my heaters in the summer. The pumps alone keep the water at 80 or better. Definately run a couple smaller ones as opposed to one big one
