:nilly: O.K. If blood parrots are sterile.(males) And no one is sure of the proper mix involved.....Where do they come from? if they are sterile they can't come from breeding. And if no one in the world knows the mix they can't be "created".......This is confusing. Can anyone set me strait? Everyone I have asked has had no clue.

I may be totally wrong here but...I thought that the majority of males were sterile...but a very small percentage are not. Does any one know?? I'm curious now!!
 
This is the best article I have ever found to date on them.The original parrots were citrinellus x synspillum.Then severum was introduced to this to create bp's as I understand it.Read the article.Very interesting.Covers a lot of the types of hybrid parrots.http://parrotcichlid.com/history.php

You are right its a figure that changes with who you ask. no one knows for sure but.....There are parrots that even breed in the home aquarium its just rare.

Nice article, Still a lil foggy though. I will read it again and then do some more research.
