I got my hands on a wild caught Oscar last week. Colombian wild caught, my LFS has send an email to the exporter for the exact catch location. What are you guys thoughts?
Never have I seen an Oscar with such beautiful colors! She / he is still a little camera shy, when the lights are dim she will come around and shows off her pattern. (still in quarantine)

The color is an intense copper with a camo / swamp green shade. The photo's are drab looking compared to the real thing.

Kind of makes me wonder why oscars have been selectively bred to look the way they typically do in the shops. That wild one looks perfect as is

I was thinking the same, I was struck by the beauty of the fish and asked the owner of my local lfs what kind of oscar it was. She simply replied with '''wild cought Colombian''. We had a nice conversation about oscars and she wrote an email to the exporter for the catch location, I cant wait to hear back from her.

Being from Colombia would suggest, it is A mikoljii Perez Lozano 2022.
Those are juvie colors, so don't expect them tp remain that intense as it matures.
I hope you are willing to provide soft low pH conditions.
