I just heard something new!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is impressive, I've seen them that size and I beleave 12" might be possable but like I said that's pushing the upper limit. Maybe if you lived in a warm climate and kept them in a large outdoor pond most of the year but IDK. A 12" Discus is like the 18" O.

Really, you guys. They were in a display tank of about 240 gallons. It was mostly plants, but there were four or five of these monster discus. If not 12" I guarantee they were at least 11". I'm looking at my Oscar right now. Yup. That's about the size. Heck, I'll call them on the phone and ask right now.

EDIT: I called, but the girl said they never measured them so she didn't have an exact measurement, just that they're still the biggest she's ever seen.

At least check out these 9" 'ers.

There is a BIG difference between a 9" discus and a 12"+ discus.

Yes. Three inches. And a lot more meat. Why yell about it?

No, man. It's all good. I was making sure I wasn't missing something...

Well I've never seen a 12" Discus and I've been keeping fish for about 17 years, going to the ACA conventions, club meetings and yes pet stores so I'd like to see a pic if there is one.

Some of the red leopard discus they're putting pictures of on the new aquaeon stuff look HUGE. But that's probably just advertising....
Anyway, even if they are legitimate pictures they're probably like 8" or 9".
