That cheers me up, LMAO. Although I do have glass hoods, I wouldn't have a had a rat on it. The only terrestrial pet I have is my cat, so there are no small animals in my house, he would kill them, but he is afraid of the fish tanks (rightfully so). I do agree, the rhom probably freaked out and smashed himself up, but there wasn't anyone down in the basement over the weekend. The only light he would have had would be the one from the ceiling and that is on a timer. I did see that there was an intake guard knocked off of the cascade filter, which makes me think he may have gone through there at a good rate of speed.
