this is nuts dude a 45 for a barra and it was in a 10 at 3". thats crazy. my barras at 1 1/2" and 3" were in a 170 and even that was to small.

He's been told before I think that they grow fast. As far as 3" barra in a 170g although you believe that is correct most would say any 1 fish @3" in a 170g and saying it needs larger tank @that size is a tad overkill. Should it be in a larger tank then a 10g? Probably. Is it only a matter of time before 40g is too small? Yeah. But let's not start scaring people away with unrealness.

/Also confused by the "waiver of liability" if you're going to have that and have it say "Information may not be accurate" in it then why give out info at all.. You give out some good info, and you know about australian natives. Just don't see the point in the waiver.

dont worry about him getting to big, as soon as i feel he is to big for my tank i will sell him to hotfishgirls

Tell her to plan A.) Barra dinner B.) Tank/pond upgrade.

For real glad you found it a good home for later. But even her 440g won't hold it forever(because of the dimensions), so even she will need an upgrade. :)

she told me that her family owns a bait and tackle shop, and that the shop has two 12'x5'x4' concrete bait tanks :)

btw im saying that 170g was to small as it didnt last long!

Maybe it's me but why do people buy fish only to grow them to max size in their tank and then give them away-I would be crushed-I mean there are scores of fish I would like to have but If I don't have a good sized tank to furnish them in when they are full size I just don't buy the fish. Oh well!

i knew when i bought him that i would not be able to keep him, but just a few months of having him is enough for me :)
aslo hotfishgirls doesnt live to far from me so i will be able to visit him every now and then ;)
