I just put together my first African tank! How did I do?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's hard to get a good pic of him but will this work? Is he a mbuna?

Nice hardscape. Might angle one rock vertically or add a larger flat bottom rock as to add elevation to the scape. I think the pictured Peacock is an albino Dragonblood.

Crazy. From the shape of the fish in the first picture I was sure it was Mbuna. Nice fish.

Looks good! Not sure how you have your background on, i see it peeling back, it’s a little late to paint it. If it’s the plastic/vinyl type, try taking it down, clean it and the glass real good, then put a thin film of mineral oil on it, stick it to the glass and use anything like a credit card or drivers license to smooth out all air bubbles. It will look much better and last a few months before needing done again

I think you are seeing a reflection.

Looks nice! Id agree a little more height would be cool if done well. The albino peacock is nice looking.

You are probably right. I’m on my iPad and the pics aren’t as good as on the pc.

Pictures are not extremely clear but the orange one looks like a red zebra. If you can get better pictures we may be able to identify the fish a little better. Hard to tell but the body shape of several look to be mbuna. Overall I think the tank looks good. I like the rock work.
Nah if you zoom in it's just a really bright albino peacock, I can't tell what kind though.
Also at least 4 of the fish in there that I can see are haps, I see a sciaenochromis fryeri in the first picture, and then a couple red empresses or borleyi in there as well. Not a big problem, but if you were going for just peacocks you didn't get all peacocks.
