Welcome to the wonderful world of aquatica. The only thing in the world more addictive than crack cocaine :naughty: . Don't get discouraged  if things go wrong at first. I can remember how many times I was going to pack it in every time a fish died  . Start out slow and enjoy  .

I feel the best way to learn how to do anything is research research research. You should absolutely use us as a source of information, but also go to the library and take out some books. They are aimed at the beginners. Secondly, anything Guppy says is right as far as most of us is concerned. He's the guru. Third, keep asking us questions. I have a ten gallon tank. It has 2 dwarf puffers in it. I dont like the look of plastic plants, and there are plants that are easy for beginners. Sword plants are typically easy to keep. also look into java moss. Anyways, take a look at this, if this appeals to you, go to your fish store and ask for the easiest plants to take care of. I have a couple swords, an onion plant, java moss, and a piece of driftwood.

Ok I will get some stuff whenever I go to walmart.

If you are looking for a easy to keep cool water try Zebra Danios super cheap hardy and prefer cold water they remain under 2" so 6 or 8 in a ten is no prob this guys will also survive a cycling process in a new tank ..

I agree that zebras are great beginners fish, they are very active, quite cheap, and tolerate a wide range of water conditions and temperature, they also get along fine with guppies though they will eat baby fish (so will guppies).

OK today is the day I get my guppies, I am thinking of putting one of my betta's in there with them, good or bad?
