I kinda inheriated a pond in bad shape

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here it is as close to finished as possible. I want to paint the piping so you cant see it, but that will have to happen another day. Its Monday for me. :(
Hope you enjoyed following my progress. (The water looks a little dirty cause all the new debris falling off the waterfall.)

I thought it had it all figured out. Well, the pond is going great, its crystal clear for several days now. But I am having 1 problem. There are alot of surface bubbles. Do I just have to live with them? I thhought of putting a piece of foam at the bottom of the waterfall, but that would be 1 more thing to clean. And the size it would have to be, would mean almost daily cleanings. Any advice?

did you actually change any water out or just make the new filter? even outdoor ponds can use a water change every once in a while - that would get rid of a lot of the dissolved solids and proteins and the foam/bubbles will be reduced a lot. especially with all the bioload in there. plants will help a little bit, but try some WC's until then.

The pond was drained probably about a foot down and a water change was done the other day to stir up the bottom. So I guess thats about a 1/4 change, its about 4 ft deep.

The water is absolutely crystal clear, just the water cascading from the waterfall is making bubbles on the surface. Hopefully in a day or two Ill be throwing in some Hornwort. Ill try to get a better pic in the am.
