Never happened to me, and had most of my rays handfeeding and can stroke my marble at the moment but you need to have a healthy fear and respect for them. just dont spoke them or be and idiot

I'm not worried about it, but have you been stung?

I personally am a little worried about it. I feel that's good though, because it'll keep me on guard and away from doing stupid things.

By all the precautions, I mean all of them. I'm not worried and thank you very much for your help.

I am begining to think you are worried, you have said your not and you are a little bit in opening statment, now again that your not, Im thinking you are so just get in there and get it over with.

i was stupid once..not really stung..i was removing a 12" ray from a net holding the stinger between my thumb and forefinger after about a minute she decided she had enough a quickly jerking away..thumb and forefinger were cut to the bone..the pain for 4 hours was unimaginable.gives a whole new repect to rays..one of the stupidest things i have ever done.

Geeze, that's why I don't want a ray. i admire them but only from a distance.

Shhesh... even after being told, you would do something like that?

I supposed you might want to stick your finger in a live socket as well...

I know of someone that was stung. She worked at a public aquarium and was trimming the stingers off the rays in the touch tank. She went to the ER to be treated and the hospital called the aquarium an hour later to say..."we have a person who got stung by a sting ray, what should we do?!??!!"

For the poor girl in pain it was not funny, to the rest of us..... man did we laugh.

There was a LOT of swelling and a WHOLE LOT of pain involved, but nothing any more serious.

friends a lifeguard and people get stung all the time here in sd beaches, hot almost unbearable to the skin water on the puncture wound of the ray and you'll be fine pain shouldn't last 4 hours unless you just sat there staring at it, or you could pee on it hahaha

once when im trying to take a pic of my 2 days old pups.. hahaha..it hurts so bad, got fever for 1 night.. i wonder what happen if i've got stung by the adult one...

correct me if im wrong for i have no experience with rays although i have seen some with the stingers cut off. dont a lot of them have them cut off? unless my eyes have deceived me..
