well i guess not everyone is lucky like me and goes to a school were we can house trout and salmon..in the class room...i would get some bluegills and some perch and then make a pond for them and get some bass..that would be sweet wat part of mass u from....

Do you have pumpkinseed sunfish in Mass? I have heard they are more aggressive than most cichlids and the coloration is awesome.

I from Spfld,yes we have "pumkinseeds"here,bluegills and pumpkinseeds are really the same fish.Does anyone have a pic of a perch???

Can anybody give me some advice as to what else (besides bluegills)would be a good native to keep in a tank,i live near a place that sells natives to the city i live in for our lakes and ponds,so i have a pretty good selection.I just want to know wich fish can survive the best in a home aquarium,thanks

I never heard of MICHEALS . Like to know where it is though. Go to the south shore , fish everywhere , even in the streets . to much rain.

What do you mean by pumpkinseed? In Alabama we called this fish a pumpkinseed but most people call them a longeared sunfish. This is a fish I kept and they totally kick ass. They max out at about 6" and are extremly colorful as you can see. Oh and did I mention that they are flat out crazy aggressive? I used this fish to cycle a tank that I was going to put my aggresive 8" Serrasalmus Maculatus in. Well when I added the piranha to the tank this sunfish who was only half the piranhas size kicked his ass!
