Sorry for your loss he was an amazing lookin fish. I have never heard of fry eating the parents fins and flesh. I have heard of them eating slime coat but not that. Good thing to hear mommy is healing.

bummer man. gl raising a son of his to replace. i've had some pretty sad times with loosing some of my big guys that i've had for years. so i know how u might feel. i say again gl with one of his sons

Aww too bad man That's terrible, and it's definately not a fish you see every day. 99% of the specimens people purchase probably don't even make it past 5 inches, makes me really sad to see such a wonderful specimen pass on like that.

You lost a nice fish but at least u got a some fry to grow out when my devils first started spawning i had to remove my male for the same reason yours died those fry are like p'sand opened up a minor wound on his side it got infected but i cuaght it in time barly sorry for your loss better luck next time.
