I love black market smugglers!

Here's a few more pics. You can see how the water clarity changes daily in relation to what the Bay is. All we do is run it through massive sandfilters to clear it up a bit prior to hitting the display.
Highlight animals are a bunch of green moray, nurse shark pup, goliath grouper, barrauda, puffers, triggers, grunts, snapper, angels, wrasses, tangs and loads of reef related fish, inverts (like conch, lobsters, hermits) and hard and soft coral native to the area.

Yeah, part of the Halloween decor around the part. I'm not too into it all, but kids seem to like it. Personally, I'm a biologist, not an entertainer.

i guess i could say citing problems that have absolutely nothing to do with this proves nothing too
Well possesion of illegally poached game has a little more in common with possessing the corals in question, then your unwed couple doing the nasty in the backseat of a car with expired tags;)

here i highlighted it red for you.
Thanks for the hi-lite, I missed that. It doesn't change anything though IMO

For anyone interested, I just got some pics of the 'putting together' process prior to placing the coral in. As you can see, my job is very hands on. :D

We used old milkcrates to create the skeleton to build off of with live rock.

3 hours later, the live rock is all placed, and we're letting water clear up.

And then back in to place the coral.

And what would a job like this be if you couldn't have some fun lovin' on the fish tank?

Is it legal for public aquariums to keep asian arowanas, for example if they were acquired under similar circumstances to these corals?

For those who work with USFW on it, yes. We had a nice size collection of Asian Arowana at Dallas World Aq (TX) when I worked there. They still have a nice set up for them. All were snagged by FW during the breaking up of a black market smuggling ring. In fact, there are so many confiscated Asian Arows a few years back that places were trying to give them to other zoos/aquariums just to get rid of them.

Thanks for the great pics M....
