Hmm... my ripsaws have grown 16+" in a year and a half. Something isn't right if he's only grown an inch.

Same here, I bought mine at 3-4 inches and in a year and a half he was 23 inches(and was still growing). Mine was very actice... swimming around all the time...eating food as so as i threw it in the tank.

Wish I could have kept him. 8 inches...wow, would love to have one at only 8 inches.

I've done alot of research on ripsaws and i'm getting two extremes. They either grow fast and are active or grow slow and play dead. I'm wondering if there are two varients with different behaviors and growth rate. Wetwhiskers threw the internal paracite possibility. I've treated twice and am waiting to see if this one grows faster.

I have two Flagtail Porthole Cats and they are some of my favorite fish. They even seem to have a bit more personality than the normal Porthole Cat.
