I guess its not so easy to grow it lasted one week. Slowly turning brown.

What is a good low light plant for a 29gal african and south american cichlid tank?

I have 15watts of florecent light.

The problem lies in your nutrients. Too low of lighting only takes a few days to kill plants. You should invest in some good ferts, greg watson's ferts are the best IMO.

Thats true mostly, but I bought 2 amazon swords and there in a 75 under stock lighting and I have already got 3 baby plants off. I use Kent Products to enhance their growth though.. I am upgrading my light though.

Heard amazing things about that light and they are pretty cheap. Thats the one I am planning on buying.

Amazon swords do not need much in the way of lighting. Their primary need is nutrients as well.

what is better liquid or dry ferts?

Also before i get all technical with the dosing of ferts i want to see how it works first to mak sure that it will work even better if i upgrade to Greg Swatson. What would a good cheap trial test fert could get from petco or petsmart that would show me a great improvement.

Basically i want to find out if ferts will work and not a waste of my money.

It is only one amozon sword, in a 29gal. Don't want to get to crazy over one plant. Plus money is tight.

Buy some root tabs stick one next to the sword every few months. An amazon sword WILL fill up your 29g tank. Mine grow out the top of my 180 and have to be trimmed back heavily or they take over the tank. I love swords and it's possible that's all I'll put in my 5000g South American biotope monster tank.
