I think the diet doesnt contribute to drop eye, if it did you would probably see other types of aros develop it. I think its genetic.
 
Guys the way Wikipedia works is by regular users contributing the information that they know. Go to the Silver Aro page and edit the information about drop eye and feeding, change the size of the tank required, and whatever else that is needed. Do not just sit there and let this go by...

Yes ... apparently over feeding will cause a fatty build up in the eye causing it to droop. I've heard it also has to do with whether or not the aro is looking down, so that's why black bottoms are preferred without tankmates...
