Don't let these guys get to you. Hikari is a big name in the fish industry and not everyone gets to meet a rep so good on you!

Agreed. You never hear about Hikari reps...ever and he knows a fellow MFK'er...pretty cool IMO. Some people can be....harsh or well complete a-holes would be a better term for these people. :)

couldnt agree more, thats neat, i would love to meet a rep :)

one of the funniest things that happened when I was at the LFS was when the Hagen rep was demonstrating a new prototype gelled food that Hagen had (that never made it out to the market apparently. this was back in the early 2000's).

He was showing how much the fish loved it as he was feeding them.

as they ate it, they promptly spit it out.

he went right on with his show about how much they "loved it" LOL

it was funny to watch..

I was at my LFS shooting the breeze and in walks a very professional-looking asian guy with a leather notebook tucked under his arm. He'd just come in from a huge freshwater fish show in Germany! This guy has the job of all jobs. His life involves flying from event to shop to event, spreading news about Hikari and seeing all kinds of amazing things. Nice guy, too. Shook my hand as I was leaving.

Yes, I'd thought about questioning him about the corn fillers in half of the food, but I didn't want to start anything at my favorite LFS, so I totally played nice. He did mention that some foods will soon be made newly available to the US. A color-enhancing micro wafer for one, and I forget if he mentioned any others or not.

He knows JohnPTC and helped him move one of his 'paimas, too. I met a star!

Big whoop on the Hikari rep . I've met one too at several fish conventions. It is definitely NOT the job of all jobs either as they spend most of their time traveling and staying in different hotels each night without having the time or energy to want to bother seeing the local sights! If you are impressed with a rep you should go to some fish conventions! (ACA?) You should have picked his brain about InterZoo in Germany though as it is the largest, by far, pet trade show in the world! I have a friend who's been to InterZoo and he says it takes 3 days of nonstop walking just to see everything!!
