I narrowed it down to two?

Having owned both...flowerhorn though I will say both fish will push a 75 to its limit, so no tankmates

Flowerhorns can get just as big as o's, if you maintain it properly i would decide on oscar, feeding will be more fun as they are greedy and eat anything where as a flowerhorn will prob stick to one type of food like midas do. theres plenty of baby oscars out there that need good homes and if your really not sure a nice o's is cheap, a nice fh isnt... watch the videos of o's swimming through hoops and under bars on youtube!-)

There will always be people on this site (or any other) that will disagree. Water parameters are most important, and if you keep them in line I'd say you're okay. Frequently water quality is an issue in overstocked tanks, but I'm not worried about yours as long as you keep on top of your water changes. If you had a 55g I'd say go with a smaller species but 75g is really the minimum size for an adult FH or oscar if you ask me. I know not everyone agrees.

A pair of salvinis would be cool too, and the males only get about 8-9". But that's a topic for another thread.

Let's keep it simple, the OP said vote only so it' no right to judge other things :D
For me if you can get your hand on HQ FL than I would go with FL other than that I'll stick with Oscar (low grade FL look ugly as hell).

I vote Oscar. I've only had one fh, it didn't have the personality my Oscars had....

I have Oscar and FH both....I would say FH...a Fader (surprise package, it will always fade into a awesome looking fish)....and have heavy filtration....75G would be good enough....

Looks like FH is winning. I have never seen a FH that I didn't like. I like them even better if they Don't have a kok. I always seem to be drawn to the FH's at my LFS.
