I need a fish ID'ed...

I just caught this fish and put it in my 55 gallon aquarium. I live in California.

Looks like a green sunfish

Nope....Green Sunfish

That is Lepomis cyanellus, Green Sunfish and a good looking one at that.
There is a possibility that it is a Lapomis macrochirus(Blue Gill) but I would go with Grn. Sunfish.
Remember, that's a cold water species.

I vote for bluegill or green sunfish.

Actually most of posters got it wrong species. It's just a 100% bluegill, not a green sunfish or pumpkinseed.
