I Need a Longnose Gar ASAP!!!

nevermind, you know this haha. read the thread about two below this one. :)

where did you see it? they reach 36" give or take a few inches in captivity. but up to 5' in the wild.

o lol. they easily reach 5 maybe 6' in the wild. in fact i have saw one in lake allatoona that looked to be between 5-6'. i cant wait for my longnose to hit the 3' mark.
 
Hey Mr. Polypterus please drop me a e-mail and phone number when you can get a chance Gargal just so happens to be my Girlfriend and when I told her about coming home to my longnose Gar being dead and how much it hurt me she wanted to try and help out so she got on here and asked for help so please dont be mad I have a 75 gallon tank with a florida gar about 13 inches long and have had him for a year and has had know problems and seems just fine in a 75 gallon. I also had the long nose which was around 13-15 inch's but died I had him for 5 months. I dont know what caused the death but it really hurt me bad I'am planning on getting a much bigger tank by winter time hopfuly a 120 or bigger! but im sorry that we caused such a big problem on here. that's too bad you lost your longnose and i'm sure you care for them, but even a 120 isnt close to what you will need for a longnose for life. as far as a "rough" tank estimate for an adult longnose...think in the 8 x 3 x 2 foot range.

also...you didnt cause any problems here...were always trying to help other gar fanatics (even though we can come across as harsh at times).

Yeah it was a bummer I was bumed out for 3 days and and was in tears when I seen him dead I have been crazy about gar ever since i was 10 and have also wanted to own one in a huge fish tank my favroite gar is the longnose because there the only gar that is found around here in my area which is indiana/ohio I have a florida Gar about 13 inches and a few bluegill two channel catfish about 8 inches one oscar and a jack dempsey. Hey do you have any photos of all your gar?
