i need a new camera

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ Thanks for clearing that up, makes sense that places like that would ban or limit the types of photos a person can take...

I can tell you that the panasonic lumix is a great bridge (super zoom) camera. The pictures are far superior to a point an shoot as you will notice if you switch from a regular P&S but then you will also notice a huge upgrade in picture quality going to a proper DSLR.
You can even get attachments that allow for macro and extra zoom, filters, etc. They are more or less a cheap DSLR without the super expensive lenses that need to be bought and carried.
I highly recommend the Lumix super zoom.

are you talking about the GF1?

If you want a DSLR look in to cannon and nikon. Or if you wan't a point and shoot look in to kodak(they used to make realy good point and shoots but idk if they do now), cannon, nikon, panasonic, sony, theres one more but i can't think of it atm.

CNET say's the fz40 is not so good

I don't know about that model. I can only comment on the fz27 which was a great camera and probably on the cheaper end of the bridge cameras now.
