Chromo, not trying to derail but do you have any hiding places for your loaches? They would appreciate it... Mine love their PVC pipes.

That big piece of wood in the back corner creates a space for them to hide. That is where they gather at night. During the day they are either swimming around or lying on their sides under the other piece of wood.

I have black tahitian moon sand in my 180, caribsea white in my 65 and pfs in my 90 . the white flys around pretty bad and packs like clay its hard to vac without pulling a bunch into the vac, the pfs is the easiest to maintain but gets ugly pretty quick i dont care for it anymore. the black moon sand is in the middle of the 2 i put 250 pounds in when i started the tank 4 years ago i think ive lost about 50 pounds since thats the one i recommend

I use 3m color cortz all the time in my tanks "T" grade. It's not to small and not to big and you can select colors or even mix them to make what you want. I've used it for years and it will be going in my 180 (already have it sitting and waiting :) ). It's a little more expensive...but worth it.

I'd really love to see some pics... I have been interested in the 3m colorquartz but I haven't ever heard first hand from someone who has used it....

Pics please?

Here's a pic of the Peace River in my tank. I tried to get as best of a shot as I could. One pic is taken looking down the length of my tank

Thanks for the pics, looks good.

I believe colorquartz was discontinued by the company, could be wrong.

That would be my luck...

Those are the colors and right now i don't have any pics of it, i'm in the process of setting up my 180 gallon tank. I do have some sitting in a bucket waiting to go in, this weekend I could put some in a glass and get a pick of it for you for an ideal :) I love the stuff and it's much heavier than sand and sinks faster. Most local construction company's have it in stock or can direct you where to get it. There is a search engine on the 3m site to find the nearest place to carry it also.
