just wana kip the water clean.. my tank is outside my house.. and it get indirect sunlight thought.. and algae grows fast inside the tank tahts why.. is my WC routine ok? wat do u tnk bro?

Personally, I would only do about 20% water change weekly if I was in your situation. But I would rather get a better (or bigger) filtration system. 60-70% (your 50% saturday + 10 or 20% during the week) seems like a lot. And water changing does'nt cure algae problem, scrubbing the glass does.

Wrong info-Bad advise;:screwy:

Changing water reduces nitrates, a bigger filter will not. Algae grows in excess in high nitrate environments.

Your water changing schedule looks just fine, it will however need to increase as your jardini grows and produces more waste.

No I did not mean you need to increase now, but as you r aro gets bigger. Best way to judge how frequent and how much water to change is with regular testing of your nitrates. Change as much water as needed to keep the nitrates in your tank at or below the 30ppm level.

I do 50% W/Cs weekly to keep my nitrates in the 15-30ppm range, for my silvers.

My black is housed with discus so that tank gets 2 35-40% W/Csa week. The tank is planted and nitrates are never above 15-20ppm.

great!! my tank is planted to, but only 3 long stemmed plants in a 4ft tank!! i only feed my jar once a day with shrimp stuffed with aro pellets.. hmmmm,,, aryt thanks for the advise.. i guess my WC is ok huh.. thanks bro!!
