D-Train, thank you. You have given us a great start. My husband has already found a couple of those that he likes.

Good to hear. Which ones if you dont mind me asking?

The Salvini & Festae, to go with the GT. and would a Frontosa work? or is there anything else that kind of looks like one that would work. He likes the blue and black stripes.

Frontosa are an African cichlid and I would say try and steer clear. It has been done but I would try and avoid it, Africans and Americans need different water chemistry.

A pair of convicts could work if you got them big enough, they are tough little things. Actually Im positive yo could keep a convict or two, just be careful because if you get a pair you will have more fry than you know what to do with, they are animals!

maybe but not necessarily; sals, gts and cons don't get very big. of course there's always some exceptions but you could always go with a school of dithers..

<edit>i take that back, gts can get around a foot or so but i've never seen a sal or con over six-seven inches. you could try an escondido maybe</edit>

Males sal's can get to 8-10", have seen the measuring tape pic on a 10" SL sal before, and lots of 8" males.
