If you have fish in there, you should be doing water changes daily.
If you dont have fish in there, you need to be continuing to add ammonia to feed the bacteria you are trying to cultivate. Otherwise, the bacteria will die and you wont be cycled in the end.
If you have a NitrIte spike right now and are doing a fishless cycle, you are almost done. You need to continue adding ammonia until the NitrItes go to zero and you get a reading for NitrAtes. Thats when you do a water change and add fish.
If you have fish already. like i said, keep doing water changes ever day.
